Lucy Fong Lee
Principal and Managing Attorney.
Ms. Lee has expertise in all aspects of business and family immigration law, including
nonimmigrant work visas, employment- and family-based permanent residence,
and naturalization cases. Representing a broad range of clients, from individuals
and small start-up companies to large multinational corporations, she counsels
professionals, students, scholars, families, religious workers, entertainers,
health care workers, investors and entrepreneurs. In recognition of her expertise
in the corporate and business areas of immigration law, Ms. Lee was honorably
mentioned in The Recorder's "Top Attorneys" survey of lawyers working in
the Bay Area. She is listed as an AV-rated attorney in Martindale-Hubbell.
As an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association
("AILA"), Ms. Lee serves on a number of committees with the Northern
California Chapter of AILA. She is also
a member of the Bay Area Coalition for Comprehensive Immigration Reform,
as well as an AILA Mentor to other attorneys. She is a past Chapter Chair
and member of the Board of Governors, and previously served as the Chapter's
Vice Chair, District Director Liaison, Secretary, and Treasurer. Ms.
Lee served as a Liaison on AILA National's Committee to the USCIS California
Service Center. Ms. Lee is also a member of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter
of AILA.
Ms. Lee is a regular speaker, author, and panelist on immigration
topics. She has been a guest speaker and panelist at conferences and
other events hosted by various organizations, including schools and
colleges, AILA, the Bar Association of San Francisco, the Immigrant Legal
Resource Center, the Chinese Newcomers Center, and the Chinese Americans
Citizen Alliance. As a writer, she has contributed to AILA and the Continuing
Education of the Bar on Advising California Employers.
Ms. Lee has served as a volunteer at the Asian Law Caucus Immigration
Law Clinic and the Bar Association of San Francisco, and was awarded
the State Bar of California's Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal
Services.
Ms. Lee graduated from New College of California, School of Law, in
San Francisco, California. While a student, she was a member the college's
admissions committee and a Certified Law Student with the State Bar
of California, which allowed her to make successful appearances at
INS (now USCIS) hearings and interviews early on in her career. Ms.
Lee completed her undergraduate degree at California State University,
San Francisco, where she majored in business administration with an
emphasis in international business.
Prior to practicing law, Ms. Lee worked 14 years in the food and restaurant business, mostly as a
house chef. A child of Chinese immigrants, Ms. Lee was born and raised in San
Francisco and she is fluent in the Cantonese and Toishan dialects.
