L-1 Visa

The L-1 visa is available to intra company transferees. The U.S. employer must have a parent, affiliate, branch or subsidiary company abroad. The employee must have been continuously employed abroad for at least one year within the three years preceding the filing of the application by the parent, affiliate, branch, or subsidiary company. There are two types of L-1 visas: 1) L-1A, which is for executives and managers, and 2) L-1B, which is for persons with specialized knowledge. Spouses and children of applicants may be admitted to the U.S. in L-2 status. Spouses in L-2 status are eligible to apply for work authorization. Please contact our office for more information.
