TN Visa

The TN visa category, created by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), allows Canadian and Mexican nationals to enter the U.S. to take up employment in certain recognized professional occupations. Most TN occupations require the application to hold a baccalaureate degree or a professional license. Spouses and minor children of TN workers may be admitted to the U.S. in TD status. The procedures for obtaining a TN visa differ for citizens of Canada and Mexico. TN holders must maintain non-immigrant intent. Approvals may be issued for up to three years.
